Apply Now Link Director of Professional Services & Consulting We are seeking an experienced Director of Professional Services & Consulting to lead and grow our consulting and delivery capabilities. The role is responsible for setting and maintaining high standards across professional services delivery, ensuring strong governance and commercial performance, and acting as a trusted advisor to clients. The Director will work closely with cross-functional teams including PS practices, support, governance, sales, and senior leadership. The focus will be leading the successful delivery of our professional services and consulting projects as well as optimising our subcontracting revenue streams. Over time, the role will expand to provide strategic consulting support across existing clients and to support new business pursuits, shaping propositions and ensuring delivery readiness. Key Responsibilities Professional Services & Consulting Leadership Provide overall leadership for Professional Services and Consulting delivery, setting clear standards for quality, consistency, and client outcomes. Build, lead, and develop high-performing delivery and consulting teams, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and client focus. Define and evolve delivery frameworks, methodologies, and governance models to support consistent, scalable execution. Client Delivery & Engagement Hold executive accountability for the successful delivery of complex transformation programmes. Act as a senior client-facing leader, building trusted relationships with client stakeholders at operational and executive levels. Ensure delivery commitments, commercial outcomes, and contractual obligations are met or exceeded. Lead the resolution of delivery risks, issues, and escalations to successful conclusion. Governance, Risk & Assurance Ensure appropriate delivery governance, controls, and assurance are in place across all programmes and consulting engagements. Oversee delivery programme and portfolio health, including financial performance, resourcing, dependencies, and risk management. Support business readiness, change management, and operational transition activities aligned to client needs. Consulting & Advisory Provide strategic advisory support to clients, helping them design and execute transformation initiatives aligned to their objectives. Contribute to the development of consulting propositions, thought leadership, and delivery approaches. Support sales and pre-sales activities by shaping delivery models, estimating complexity, and providing assurance on delivery feasibility. Partner & Ecosystem Management Work with technology and delivery partners to ensure alignment with Route 101 delivery standards and ways of working. Monitor and manage partner and near shore resource performance within delivery programmes to ensure quality and value are achieved. Skills & Experience Experience Significant experience (typically 10 years) in Professional Services, Consulting, or Programme Leadership roles. Strong track record delivering complex professional services programmes, ideally involving technology-enabled change. Experience operating in structured, regulated, or enterprise environments (e.g. public sector, BPO, or complex client organisations) is advantageous. Leadership Proven senior leader with experience building, leading, and developing multi-disciplinary delivery and consulting teams. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on problem solving. Stakeholder Management Excellent ability to communicate complex delivery, governance, and commercial topics clearly to senior business and technical stakeholders. Confident managing executive-level client and internal relationships, including challenge where required. Commercial & Delivery Management Strong understanding of delivery economics, commercial models, programme governance, and portfolio management. Experience supporting sales and pre-sales through solution shaping, assurance, and client engagement. Problem Solving Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a pragmatic, outcome-focused approach to resolving delivery challenges. Education Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience. Formal programme, project, or consulting qualifications (e.g. MSP, PRINCE2, Agile leadership) desirable.
