The Diocese of Guildford is looking for a dynamic and proactive Facilities Administrator to ensure the smooth and professional operation of our building. This role is vital in ensuring our office and reception services run seamlessly, and our team has the space and resources they need to do their best work.
Background
In April 2025, Church House Guildford (CHG) relocated to its newly renovated and refurbished premises on the Cathedral campus at Stag Hill. The building now serves as a modern workspace for the 80 staff of the Guildford Diocesan Board of Finance (DBF), offering both desk and meeting facilities. It also features a suite of nine meeting rooms designed to host a variety of internal and external meetings and events for a broad range of stakeholders.
Some of the Key Responsibilities:

o Responsible for locking the building at 17:30 daily
*
o Ensure all visitors and callers are warmly welcomed and presented with a professional image of CHG
*
o Coordinate meeting room bookings, AV set up, and hospitality arrangements
*
o Responsibility for providing, allocating and maintaining all office equipment
*
o Manage office supplies and negotiate best-value contracts with suppliers
*
o Liaise with contractors and suppliers, Cathedral staff and visitors to ensure smooth operations
*
o Lead on the desk booking system and promote ergonomic workplace standards
* Provide administrative support to the Mission Team including calendar management and
arranging meetings, coordinating reviews, and assisting with communications.
Qualifications and Experience:
*
o Minimum A-level education or equivalent
*
o Previous experience as a receptionist in a busy environment
*
o Confident setting up meetings and associated IT and AV equipment
*
o Excellent administration, organisational and planning abilities
*
o Ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders
*
o Strong IT skills
* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Hours:
This is a full-time office-based role to align with the buildings daily closing time of 17:30. Normal hours would be 09:30-17:30 with some flexibility.
