Children's Social Worker Safeguarding - Mendip — Somerset Council
Responsibilities
* Within our Family Safeguarding Teams, you will work alongside adult-focused practitioners, in specialist areas of substance misuse, domestic abuse, and mental health, to inform assessments and plans.
* You will work with children and families experiencing challenges around complex neglect, sexual harm, physical harm, risks outside the home including child exploitation, and parental learning difficulties.
* You will collaborate with parents and the wider family network, with access to Family Group Conferencing, to help identify strengths, tackle problems and change interactions and behaviours.
Qualifications and Experience
* You will need to be a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England and have experience working with children and families in social work within a Local Authority team. Experience of work within family courts is desirable.
* You will be passionate about relationship-based social work, proud of your profession, and able to reflect and think creatively about building relationships to make a positive difference to children and families and empower families to make and sustain changes.
* You will be a competent IT user, able to use or learn to use LiquidLogic.
* You will need to hold a full driving licence and have access to your own vehicle as travel is required within our county.

Salary and background check
* Salary £37,280 to £41,771 per annum
* In this role you will require a criminal background check via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
