Academics are currently looking for Primary SEN Teaching Assistants to join our partnership primary schools across Stoke-on-Trent & Newcastle-under-Lyme. Responsibilities of a SEN Primary Teaching Assistant: You will be a Teaching Assistant with previous experience of supporting learners with a Special Educational Need (SEN). Able to hold student attention and focus with excellent communication skills. Promote happiness, self-reliance, and encourage positive interactions. Confidently support learners either 1:1 or in small groups. Assist with lesson planning and differentiated activities. Promote inclusion and positive behaviour in all learning settings. Work collaboratively with SENCO's and teachers.For this role, applicants who apply must have: Previous experience of working with learners in a primary school, SEN school, or educational setting in the UK. Confident communication skills and a calm, nurturing, approach. A good understanding of autism, sensory needs, and/or emotional/behavioural difficulties. Strong behaviour management skills with the ability to support learners in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. A good level of literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths Grade 4 or Grade C and above/Functional Skills Level 2 in the minimum required).
