Job summary: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Psychologist to join the Calderdale CAMHS Core and Neurodevelopmental Assessment Teams.
We welcome applications from newly qualified Clinical Psychologists with an interest in CAMHS, Clinical Psychologists looking for progression from a Band 7-8a or Clinical Psychologists already in an 8a role.
The post holder will deliver high quality assessment, formulation and intervention for children, young people and families accessing the service with mental health needs.
The post holder will also have the opportunity to undertake neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people present with autism and/or ADHD.
Main duties of the job
* Attend the weekly team meeting and support staff with clinical formulation and decision making
* Undertake extended assessments where a child or young person's needs are difficult to identify and support formulation and recommendations to the system and network
* Offer 1:1 therapeutic intervention work to children, young people, parents and carers
* Offer clinical supervision to staff within the service
* Undertake clinical supervisor training in order to offer trainee clinical psychology placements
* Support the staff team with formulation of children and young people where needs are complex or there are complicating factors
* Offer training to the staff team
* Undertake cognitive assessments where appropriate to inform formulation and to support 1:1 intervention work
* Undertake group work within the service which may include waiting well, DBT, CBT and parent/carer groups
* Undertake neurodevelopmental assessments which include an activity based assessment, parental interview and ADOS-2
* Attend the neurodevelopmental multi-disciplinary team meeting to support discussions and formulation
* Undertake report writing for both pathways

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
* Significant Post qualification experience in a Setting relevant to the post
* HCPC Registration as a Clinical Psychologist
Experience
* Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings
* Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity
* Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision (desirable)
Training
* Completion of formal training to meet eligibility as clinical supervisor of Doctoral Trainee Clinical Psychologists
