We’re looking for a proactiveEnergy and Carbon Analystto join our national full-service energy solutions teams at either ourBristol or Blackpool office, where we can work together to Optimise the world’s transition to net zero and beyond.

About the role
As Energy and Carbon Analyst within Optimised, you will be part of the Bureau and Recharging team, responsible for high level customer service; through accurate utility invoice validation, energy query management, creating recharges and processing change of tenancies, as well as creating various detailed reports for our clients.
Your role will be to proactively manage the day-to-day billing processes. This will require a good level of detail, accuracy and timely processes; working closely with internal and external stakeholders to pro-actively look for problems, efficiencies and ways to save money.
What you’ll actually do
* Provide an excellent client experience to internal and external stakeholders
* Handling queries via all typical channels in line with internal KPI’s
* Completing invoice checking and tariff-based validation on all components of electricity & gas invoices
* Maintaining database(s) with accurate data in a timely manner
* Generating batches of invoices, analysing the costs against previous periods, and looking for and reviewing anomalies
* Raising queries and resolving errors with suppliers when invoices are incorrect to resolve ASAP
* Producing weekly batch files for clients to process payments
* Processing and following up on change of tenancies.
* Creating and delivering monthly/scheduled recharge invoices to tenants
* Calculating targets and budgets and reviewing on-accounts where required
* Producing portfolio-wide reports and issuing to clients accordingly
* Assisting with and managing new connections and disconnections.
* Driving continual improvement in our billing systems and processes
* Ensuring that core processes are documented and that efficiencies are identified and implemented
* Attending client meetings with Account Managers
* Build knowledge of the energy industry and develop an understanding of queries and resolution
* Developing a personal training plan to achieve professional qualification(s) and work towards a Certificate in Energy Management with the Energy Institute
What you’ll need
* An underlying interest in energy industry
* Understanding of all components of an electricity & gas bill
* Analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills – having the ability to communicate complex utility issues with suppliers, clients and internal stakeholders
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel – be confident to manipulate data, formatting data, creating and reviewing formulas
* Familiar with systems and billing.
* Customer Service Experience - strong investigation skills and the ability to follow queries through from the start to the end.
