Role Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Matron to join our Community Services leadership team across North East Essex (NEE). This is an exciting opportunity for a visible, engaged, and forward‑thinking leader who is passionate about delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care and shaping the future of community services. As Senior Matron, you will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting the transformation of community services across North East Essex. You will provide strong clinical and operational leadership across:
* Three established community wards
* A fourth community ward opening this Summer
* Governance and quality oversight for the Proactive Neighbourhood Clinical Delivery Group
In this role, you will provide leadership for staff in the Clinical Specialty and ensure safe, efficient delivery of patient care in line with current research and evidence, working closely with Sister/charge Nurse/Leads as part of the Clinical Specialty Senior Team. You will also facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of the Trust and NHS commissioning requirements through clinical service delivery, actively contribute to the Nursing and Midwifery Board (NMB), uphold the local and national nursing agenda, and deputise for the Head of Nursing and Clinical Services within the division.
Responsibilities
* Provide leadership for staff working in the Clinical Specialty.
* Provide professional and managerial leadership for all nursing and support roles and be accountable for safe, efficient delivery of patient care in line with current research/evidence.
* Work closely with Sister/charge Nurse/Leads to facilitate development, implementation and evaluation of the Trust and NHS commissioning requirements through clinical service delivery.
* Actively contribute to the Nursing and Midwifery Board (NMB) with a focus on supporting development in nursing and clinical practice in line with the local and national nursing agenda.
* Deputise for the Head of Nursing and Clinical Services within the division.
Qualifications & Experience
We are looking for a highly motivated and credible leader who has had previous experience in a senior leadership role, demonstrates strong visible leadership and the ability to inspire and engage teams. Experience in the community services or integrated care settings would be desirable.
