We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Account Manager to join our Client Leadership team within a leading retail and shopper insight agency. You will be responsible for managing and growing relationships across a portfolio of well-known food & drink manufacturers, acting as the trusted insight partner for senior stakeholders and ensuring our insight programmes deliver measurable value. This is a client-facing, relationship-led role requiring confidence, curiosity, and a strong understanding of FMCG and retail dynamics. The ideal candidate will have previous experience within an insight, market research, or data-led agency, and will be comfortable navigating complex client organisations to uncover new stakeholders and commercial opportunities. What you’ll do Client Relationship Management Own and nurture day-to-day and senior-level relationships across a portfolio of c.15 food & drink manufacturers. Serve as the primary point of contact, ensuring client satisfaction and proactive engagement. Network within client organisations to identify new stakeholder groups and broaden the reach of our services. Commercial Ownership Lead the renewal of annual insight subscriptions, ensuring timely planning and compelling value demonstrations. Identify and convert upsell opportunities across additional insight products, platforms, or advisory services. Work closely with internal teams to scope and deliver consultancy and bespoke insight projects, ensuring commercial viability and client impact. Strategic Insight Delivery Develop an understanding of client business priorities, challenges, and commercial context to identify where deeper strategic support may be beneficial. Facilitate high-impact client conversations and coordinate internal specialists for presentations, workshops, and strategic discussions with senior stakeholders. Internal Collaboration Work cross-functionally with our insight teams, consultants, marketing and social impact teams to deliver maximum value to our clients and support account growth. Contribute to internal planning, forecasting, and account strategy sessions. What we’re looking for Previous experience in an insight, market research, or data‑driven agency is essential. Proven ability to manage and grow accounts within FMCG, retail, or a related sector. Confident engaging senior-level stakeholders and facilitating strategic conversations. Strong networking skills with the ability to uncover new contacts and build influence within complex client organisations. Commercial acumen, with experience driving contract renewals, upselling, or consultative selling. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written. Ability to translate data and insight into compelling narratives and commercial recommendations. Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
