Location: Redhill, Surrey, West Sussex or Hailsham (happy to drop off/pick up) Care Type: One-to-one, no kennels, in sitter’s home preferred We’re looking for a kind, confident and reliable dog carer who genuinely enjoys spending time with dogs and isn’t put off by any breed. Someone who can offer a safe, calm, and loving environment during the holiday period and in future for occasional visits. Dexter is a truly gentle, affectionate soul. He adores people, loves cuddles, and enjoys being close to whoever he bonds with. He’s house-trained, food-motivated, and settles beautifully once he feels secure. He can be a bit excited when he first meets someone new — mostly because he’s delighted to say hello and give kisses — but he responds well to calm reassurance. Dexter walks quite nicely on the lead and enjoys his outdoor time. He should stay on lead, as he doesn’t have the best road sense and is very food-oriented (he will happily investigate any forgotten takeaway on the pavement!). Due to a bad experience when he was a puppy, he isn’t comfortable with unfamiliar dogs, especially if they come too close. For this reason, he thrives with a carer who is confident and happy to give him space from other dogs during walks. Dexter forms strong bonds with humans and prefers not to be left alone. We’re therefore looking for someone who is at home most of the day and can offer him companionship. He may require medication at times, so experience administering it would be helpful.
