The role
As an Engineering Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. An incredible opportunity has arisen to work across Babcock’s Shipbuilding Lines of Business supporting the Arrowhead Meicznik Programme.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for the systems and functions delegated to you within one or more projects. You will ensure that the technical solutions meet customer requirements and that technical risks are managed. Your responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring the design and supplier’s equipment meet contract requirements
* Managing stakeholders to ensure delivery of outputs in accordance with the project plan and quality standards
* Managing technical change
* Managing technical risk
* Independently reviewing the technical development of the design and assisting in resolving technical issues
This role is full time, 37 hours per week, and adaptable. It can be delivered from various locations including Bristol, Devonport, or Rosyth. The position is based in Poland for the first 9-12 months.
Essential experience of the Engineering Manager:
* Proven naval surface ships shipbuilding knowledge and experience within their area of expertise
* Ability to be flexible and mindful of cultural differences when managing international customers
Qualifications for the Engineering Manager:
* Chartered Engineer, Engineering degree, or comparable academic standard in a relevant discipline
* Association of Project Management (APM) Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
