Job Description
Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated, resilient and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.
The Role
As a HLTA within a PRU setting, you will:
* Deliver engaging small-group and 1:1 learning sessions
* Support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
* Lead lessons in the absence of a teacher and follow tailored schemes of work
* Implement behaviour-support strategies and de-escalation techniques
* Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams and external professionals
* Help create a safe, supportive and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
* Experienced working with challenging behaviour or SEMH (school or care backgrounds welcome)
* Confident leading learning and supporting differentiated activities
* Patient, emotionally resilient and able to build positive relationships
* Proactive, enthusiastic, and committed to improving pupil outcomes
* Qualified at HLTA level or experienced as a Senior Teaching Assistant/Unqualified Teacher
