Role Overview:
We are seeking to recruit a Domestic Abuse Support and Prevention Worker to provide high-quality, trauma-informed support to individuals experiencing or at risk of domestic abuse. You will play a key role in delivering early intervention, advocacy, and education to help break the cycle of abuse.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide emotional and practical support to survivors of domestic abuse.
Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans.
Facilitate referrals to appropriate services including housing, legal, and mental health support.
Delivery of awareness and prevention work.
Maintain accurate and confidential case records.
Work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure holistic support.
Support volunteers in the workplace
Essential Criteria:
Experience working with vulnerable individuals, ideally within domestic abuse or safeguarding settings.
Strong understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and its impact.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
Commitment to equality, diversity, and trauma-informed practice.
Desirable:
Knowledge of local support services and referral pathways.
