Financial Operations Projects Lead (O2C & P2P) – Urgent Start Contract
Location: London (Hybrid working - 3 days required in office)
Contract: 6-month fixed-term

Reporting to: Head of Financial Operations
Day Rate: IR35 status TBC. Rate depending on experience, circa £600-£800 per day
A fast-growing, international technology business is seeking an experienced Financial Operations Projects Lead to drive transformation across core finance processes. This role focuses on improving efficiency, accuracy, and controls within Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Improvement & Controls
* Review and optimise O2C, P2P, and bank reconciliation processes
* Document workflows and implement process improvements
* Strengthen financial controls, including updating control frameworks (RACMs)
* Enhance upstream controls to improve data accuracy at source
* Support readiness for compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX)
Project Delivery & Change Management
* Lead end-to-end finance transformation projects
* Develop project plans, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery
* Collaborate with finance, operations, and technology teams
* Translate business needs into system and process improvements
* Drive adoption of new processes through training and communication
* Provide regular progress updates to senior stakeholders
Cross-functional Collaboration
* Partner with teams across Accounts Payable, Receivable, Treasury, and Procurement
* Identify inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions
* Work with technical teams to optimise finance systems and automation
Skills & Experience:
Experience
* 10–15 years in finance operations (O2C, P2P, cash management)
* Strong track record in process improvement and project delivery
* Experience in complex reconciliations, billing, or payments lifecycle
* Background in fast-paced, tech, or listed environments preferred
Technical Skills
* Advanced Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
* Familiarity with automation tools (RPA/AI)
* Knowledge of project methodologies (Agile/Waterfall)
Qualifications (desirable)
* Finance certification (or equivalent experience)
* Project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile)
