About the role
The Children & Young People Wellbeing Advisor delivers support to 11–18 year olds across the Strong Young Minds Reaching Out programme. The role involves one‑to‑one support, brief intervention approaches, group work and workshops to build resilience, confidence and coping strategies for young people facing mental health and wellbeing challenges.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide flexible, creative support to children and young people with low‑level mental ill health, self‑harm, family conflict, school transitions, employment, education or housing concerns.
* Deliver one‑to‑one, brief intervention, group work and workshops within local communities.
* Ensure timely access to appropriate wellbeing support and coordinate with local services as needed.
* Develop and implement personalised plans to improve wellbeing outcomes.
* Work evenings within the scheduled hours.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Passion for children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing.
* Experience working with children and young people in a wellbeing, youth work or mental health setting.
* Ability to engage, motivate and inspire young people.
* Strong understanding of mental health challenges and early intervention strategies.
* Creative approach to delivering effective support.
* Commitment to placing young people at the centre of all actions.
