Building Surveyor Job in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire
in Nottingham, for a reputable multidisciplinary consultancy. Due to growth, they now need a Building Surveyor to support in the delivery of a mix of professional services and project management work, for residential and commercial clients. Offering a salary of up to £53,000 + Hybrid Working + 25 Days Holiday + Healthcare.
Established over 50 years ago, they are a team of 170 with plans to grow to 250 in the next few years, they operate from 15 offices across the UK and have a Building Surveying team of 65. Offering services across building surveying, commercial property consultancy, civil & structural engineering, cost consultancy, architecture & planning and insurance works. To be considered you must have experience previously as a Building Surveyor with project management experience for refurb / maintenance projects. Predominantly you will be working on residential projects, so residential project experience is essential.
Role & Responsibilities
1. Inspect and provide advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of all types of buildings and sites
2. Acquisition surveys, condition reports, measured surveys and defect investigations
3. Prepare reports and schedules of works and works specifications
4. Design and oversee works using recognised building contracts and to current technical standards
5. Undertake high value projects and professional consultancy services with the support of a senior
6. Comply with current regulations with regard to health and safety, party wall, building regulations and planning
7. Support in promoting the company’s services to secure projects and promote the brand
8. Support RICS APC candidates.
Required Skills & Experience
9. Degree in Building Surveying and willing to pursue the RICS APC Pathway
10. Experienced in delivery of both project management and professional services
11. Residential project experience is a must and commercial is beneficial
12. Experienced in defect diagnosis and report writing
13. Experienced in managing multiple projects
14. Understanding of CDM Regulations, Party Wall and the latest building regulations
15. Proficient in Microsoft Office
16. Insurance repair project experience preferred.
