Join a global team dedicated to improving the societies we live in through sustainable, electric mobility.
The opportunity
We're currently looking for a Financial Accounting Manager, someone to join our Finance team in the UK to lead our record to report processes. This role will deliver quality reporting, ensuring control and compliance by effectively managing month, quarter and year end processes, having built highly effective relationships with local and global stakeholders, not least our outsourced accounting service provider. You should share our passion for electric mobility, have an interest in technology, and a desire to create the change we know is needed.
This position is located at UK headquarters in Bicester, Oxfordshire, and it would be expected that you spend quality face-to-face time with colleagues at least 3 days per week. What matters most is that people get the time and support to do what needs to be done. And to enjoy doing it, of course.
The responsibilities
In this role, you'll manage our outsourced accounting partner, overseeing the business’ day-to-day accounting activity and ensure the successful completion of our close and reporting processes. Working as a member of UK Finance team, you'll be the main contact for Group Accounting, Technical Accounting, External and Internal auditors and regulatory bodies such as HMRC.
* Manage relationships with our outsourced accounting and payroll service providers to deliver key finance/accounting functions including cash and bank, accounts payable and accounts receivable
* Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely, compliant and accurate reporting to local and global leadership
* Oversee the preparation and review of statutory financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and SOX compliance
* With the support of Group and Technical Accounting, maintain and enforce accounting policies, procedures and controls to ensure compliance and safeguard the Company’s assets
* Liaise with external auditors, HMRC and other regulatory bodies as required
* Identify and lead process improvement activity across all accounting operations
The ideal candidate
You'll be tenacious, flexible and have an eye for detail. You’ll have the ability to take the initiative, to meet deadlines and requirements, and to deliver positive outcomes at pace. You will be a strong communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams, enabling you to drive change and deliver high-quality output
In addition, you'll need the following:
* ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
* At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally having led a team for at least two of those. Having experience of managing or working with an outsourced accounting partner is a significant advantage
* Experience in working in or with a listed (ideally SOX-controlled) organisation
* Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in accounting and ERP systems
* Experience of playing a leading role in a finance transformation programme is an advantage
