The Role: The Senior Campaigns Manager will lead on the strategy and delivery of all marketing campaigns for the business, including promoting our England Men’s team and the Red Roses, ticket sales and membership campaigns and participation campaigns promoting the grassroots of the game. They will support the Head of Consumer Engagement to develop integrated marketing strategies based on insights which are then delivered across the wider marketing team. The Team: The Consumer Engagement team drives connection, action, and insight across the business through three core marketing verticals: Marketing Campaigns, CRM, and Advanced Data Analytics. Our mission is to build strong, direct relationships with fans, players, and volunteers—turning engagement into meaningful action. We lead key campaigns, deliver tailored communications, and champion a data-driven approach across the organization. We support a wide range of strategic projects, working flexibly across remote and HQ-based environments. Agile and collaborative, we’re committed to making every interaction count. Some key responsibilities include: Lead the development and execution of the marketing strategy across participation and fandom campaigns at the RFU with a focus on driving growth through the funnel (from awareness to attendance) with our target audience segments. Oversee the project management of key campaigns from research through to delivery and evaluation. Ensure an integrated process is in place across the marketing department to bring together Brand, Content, Consumer Engagement and Product to deliver fully aligned plans. Engaging with and managing external agencies where required including creative and paid media agencies. Ensuring all campaigns have clear and consistent messaging across all relevant England Rugby channels. Manage a wider team to deliver marketing campaigns that are aligned to KPIs set out in the Strategic Plan. Build and manage positive relationships across the organisation including Rugby Events and Competitions, Rugby Development, Ticketing and Strategy & Insights. Manage tracking and performance of campaign activity and report on results in a timely manner. Oversee and work with the wider team on marketing budgets, ensuring cost control and accurate forecasting. Actively collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development and delivery of the current strategic, business and operational plans. Act as an ambassador for, and promote the best interests of the RFU, including the promotion of our culture and core values – This Rose Means Everyone: Put The Team First, Shape The Future, Respect Each Other. Undertake other duties as may be required from time to time as are consistent with the responsibilities of the post and the needs of the organisation. Qualifications, Skills & Experience: The skills and attributes outlined in this description are not exhaustive and we welcome candidates who can bring different relevant experiences to the role. Essential: Experienced marketeer with a proven track record of delivering cross channel marketing campaigns. Experience in project management and delivering multiple tasks to deadline on budget. Excellent knowledge of marketing disciplines from insights, campaign briefing, agency management, channel and communications planning, execution and measurement. Ability to manage a vast network of stakeholders. Experience in team and line management. A great understanding of digital marketing including social media and CRM. Excellent writing ability with style adaptable to suit different communication tools and audiences. Sound commercial judgement and decision-making capability, with the ability to handle sensitive issues effectively. Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads.
