Overview
We are looking for a sales engineer to work with us as suppliers of surface treatment equipment and services in to UK and Irish manufacturing sectors.
The role will be to develop new and existing customer accounts for sales of machinery and contract surface treatment done in house.
The role will be based from our facility in Redditch, Worcestershire where you will have a desk and base. You would be expected to visit customers frequently as well as arrange for visits to our site for potential customers.
A mix of on the road sales visits, customers visiting our site, generally working from the office and working from home is likely 2-4 days with customers and 1-3 days in the office and at home.
Work with customers will range from initial meetings to discuss ideas, through to hands on trials with equipment and work in our lab and test facility.
Our business takes place within the UK and Ireland so occasional nights away are expected, all work to be done within normal office hours.
The Ideal Candidate
This role has become available as we look to grow and as our sales manager steps down for personal reasons.
Our business is growing and we want to have a new sales engineer in the company who can grow and develop with us and our small and friendly team.

Our ideal candidate will have enthusiasm for manufacturing, engineering and/ or science to find the job interesting, any history and knowledge of working with coatings, inks, adhesives or paints would be highly advantageous.
Duties
* Develop and maintain relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
* Present technical information and product demonstrations to potential customers, showcasing the benefits of our offerings.
* Collaborate with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and strategies for market penetration.
* Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring client satisfaction throughout the sales process.
* Utilise Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting, ensuring accurate tracking of sales metrics.
* Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into understandable terms.
* Organise and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines and achieve sales targets.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a technical sales role or similar position within manufacturing, science or engineering environments.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for data reporting.
* Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Strong time management skills, demonstrating the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* A customer-centric mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality service.
* Confident driving skills for on the road travelling.
