Overview
Waking Night Support Worker - Ross-on-Wye HR9, with salary £13.20 - £13.90 per hour, 30 hours per week. Shifts are 21:00 to 07:00. Based in Ross-on-Wye, Hereford (HR9).
About Chepstow House: based in Ross-on-Wye with links to the Forest of Dean and the Midlands. The home currently supports 12 residents (capacity 13) with a range of needs including autism, learning disability, dementia and ABI. End of Life care is provided in coordination with the local district nursing team to enable residents to die in their own home with dignity and respect. Full training and staff support are provided. Residents enjoy activities such as cinema, bowling, shopping, visits to zoos, seaside and museums; house activities include baking, gardening, arts and crafts, musical movement and karaoke. Transport links include M50, A40, A49 by car, bus or taxi; Hereford and Gloucester train stations are about 15 miles away. Public transport is close to the home.
Notes: due to the vulnerable nature of the people we support, all applicants must be over 18. This role is full-time and requires working nights as specified.
Responsibilities
* Day-to-day support and routine of the people we support.
* Prompting independence while helping residents live a fulfilling life.
* Supporting and encouraging development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
* Maintaining and assisting with health care needs, including accompanying residents to routine appointments or administering medication.
* Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills and shopping.
* Assisting with personal care as required.
* Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning and cooking.
* Providing guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience in care settings is beneficial. Full induction and introductory programme provided. Full training and ongoing support available for staff affected by the role’s challenges.
