Position: Highways Engineer in Transportation
Work on projects of all sizes—from the large M25 project to niche initiatives like Human Drive. Our projects are leading digital transformation in highways, impacting how people live and work. Be part of collaborative design teams across the UK and globally during this exciting era of intelligent networks, autonomous technology, and mobility as a service. Your initiative and voice can lead in these emerging areas.
Role Overview
* Contribute to highway projects throughout their lifecycle, following the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and best practices.
* Work within a BIM level 2 environment, using Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and specialized software like Micro-drainage.
* Develop designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D models.
* Support and review work of graduates, assistant engineers, and technicians.
* Engage with stakeholders including clients, contractors, and other designers.
* Prepare technical documents and drawings for review and approval.
* Set and report on project milestones in coordination with senior staff.
* Manage your projects and mentor team members.
Candidate Requirements
* BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent); Incorporated Engineer status is a plus.
* Experience in highway engineering design, with knowledge of highway drainage design advantageous.
* Strong understanding of highway scheme design.
* Awareness of health and safety practices in civil engineering.
* Ability to work independently and seek guidance when needed.
