Location: Bury / Stockport Manchester
Salary: £12.75 per hour + £50 per sleep-in
Hours: Full Time - rota includes evenings, weekends & sleep-ins (average 155 hours per month)
Spectrum Children's Services (part of the Rehability UK Group) are looking for dedicated Youth Independence Mentors / Youth Support Workers to join our Supported Accommodation teams. You'll support young people aged 16-18 as they prepare for adulthood—teaching essential life skills, encouraging personal growth, and ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
What you'll be doing
* Supporting young people day-to-day in line with their individual plans.
* Teaching independence skills - cooking, budgeting, cleaning, travel, health, and community access.
* Encouraging education, training, and employment opportunities.
* Acting as a positive role model and building safe, trusting relationships.
* Promoting safeguarding, safety, and well-being at all times.
* Recording progress and outcomes using Clear Care Solutions.
* Working collaboratively with colleagues and professionals to ensure the best outcomes.
What we're looking for
* Experience working with young people (care, supported accommodation, youth work, education, or transferable skills).
* Ability to teach and encourage independence skills.
* Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
* Empathy, patience, and strong communication skills.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
Desirable: Level 3 NVQ/QCF in Children & Young People / Health & Social Care, mentoring experience, full UK driving licence.
