Mental Health Services in Doncaster have benefited from funding during 2019 and 2020. This investment has enabled us to expand our Hospital Liaison Mental Health Team. The Liaison Mental Health Service Model within Doncaster Royal Infirmary is part of NHS England's "Achieving Better Access to 24/7 Urgent and Emergency Mental Health Care" Guidance.
Older adults with mental health problems are three times more likely to attend an Emergency Department and five times more likely to be admitted to a general hospital as an emergency. Working within a Mental Health Liaison Team is an essential and rewarding role.
