We are currently seeking a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist specialising in Microbiology to join our client’s team in the Outer Hebrides. This is a full-time, ongoing position working core hours only, offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to contribute to a busy and well-established laboratory service.
Key Responsibilities
You will perform culture, identification, and sensitivity testing of clinical specimens. You will detect bacterial infections using manual and automated techniques.
Qualifications and Experience
* HCPC registration
* Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent
* Experience in Microbiology within a clinical laboratory
* Experience with culture and sensitivity testing
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
* NHS experience (preferred)
