An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join a large, well‑established organisation with a significant UK footprint. Working within a high-performing finance team, this role plays a key part in statutory reporting, tax compliance, and financial controls. The position offers excellent exposure, cross-functional collaboration, and the chance to contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives.
The Opportunity
This role sits within a dynamic finance function and will take ownership of key areas including statutory accounts preparation, VAT and tax compliance, audit support, and balance sheet governance. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business and contribute to ongoing system and process enhancements, including involvement in finance-related technology projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and submit statutory accounts and corporation tax packs
* Maintain and review balance sheet reconciliations, focusing on high-risk areas
* Prepare and submit weekly cashflow reporting
* Identify and deliver process improvements across financial reporting
* Complete VAT, P11D, PSA, PPPR, and ONS returns
* Act as main point of contact for external auditors
* Maintain the Tax Risk Register and ensure compliance with tax policies
* Support annual review of relevant compliance policies
* Support finance system developments in collaboration with internal IT teams
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
