We are seeking a motivated individual to undertake a supervisory role within our Domestic team at Leigh Infirmary
Working 15 hours per week Monday - Friday, -
The post holder will be responsible for managing Domestic staff on a daily basis to support our team members in delivering an excellent cleaning service.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily supervision of the Domestic Services, completing all supervisory duties.

Job responsibilities
16. Allocate & organise day-to-day work tasks and activities, adjust staff rotas for unplanned absences and release of staff for training.
17. Security of buildings.
18. Monitoring of performance of duties as laid down in work schedules
19. Performance of duties in accordance with approved methods, frequencies and standards.
20. Training & assessment of staff in the use of equipment machinery, COSHH and cleaning materials as directed.
21. Allocation of cleaning materials and equipment.
22. Make spot checks on wards and Departments to check on cleaning standards.
23. Monitor the compliance of the uniform policy.
24. Attend relevant training courses as directed.
25. Completion of Datix reporting system.
26. Adopt a flexible approach when undertaking duties as part of a team, including colleagues and other staff, working towards the highest possible standards of patient care.
27. Hospital site key holder, key allocation of, user of alarm systems
28. Audit cleaning standards to National Standards and Quality assurance procedures on wards and Departments, take corrective action when necessary.
29. Liaises with wards, departments and accommodation.
30. Handles complaints and takes preliminary action to resolve.
31. Take action as necessary on reported accidents at work and defects with machinery and buildings. Carry out initial investigations into accidents at work.
32. Implement policies and make recommendations to improve or change work practices for own area.
33. Assist with Interview & selection of staff in compliance with the HR Recruitment policy.
34. Training & assessing in conjunction with the Domestic Services Training protocols.

Essential
35. Level 2 or equivalent qualification
36. Ability to demonstrate supervisory experience in a Domestic or equivalent role.
Desirable
37. Health & Safety qualification Team Leader/Supervisory qualification or equivalent

38. Understanding of the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness
39. Conversant with protocols in relation to infection control
40. Previous cleaning/domestic experience
