This is a confidential vacancy, ideal for a forward-thinking leader with a proven background in primary care or healthcare operations.The RoleAs Practice Manager, you will lead on all aspects of operational delivery across the practice – ensuring excellent patient services, strong financial performance, effective staff management, and regulatory compliance. You’ll work alongside clinical partners to shape the strategic direction of the practice while maintaining a positive, collaborative culture.This is a senior, hands-on leadership role and would suit a confident, proactive manager who thrives on autonomy and has a passion for driving high standards.Key Responsibilities:Full operational responsibility for practice performance, staffing, compliance and patient accessFinancial and budgetary oversight including forecasting, reporting, and contract compliance (QOF, PCN DES, enhanced services)HR leadership: recruitment, training, appraisals, and employee relationsStrategic development and business planning in collaboration with the PartnersOversight of CQC readiness and adherence to NHS contractual obligationsLeading projects across clinical, digital, or service delivery areasManagement of IT systems, premises, and facilitiesEngagement with external stakeholders including PCNs, ICBs, and other healthcare partnersPerson Specification:Must have experience in Primary Care (PCN)Strong HR, financial and operational leadership experienceKnowledge of NHS structures, QOF, CQC, and enhanced servicesExcellent interpersonal, communication, and change management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)Ability to manage performance and develop high-performing teamsAMSPAR, Leadership or Management qualificationFamiliarity with EMIS and PCN workingExperience leading service change or transformation projectsSalary & Benefits:Salary up to £55,000, dependent on experienceNHS Pension Scheme or equivalentGenerous holiday entitlementProfessional development supportAutonomy and influence in a respected, forward-thinking practiceLocation: Greater Manchester – Easily commutable from Rochdale, Manchester, Oldham, and surrounding areasInterested: To apply or find out more, contact Tom Fitch on 02393 874295 or 07919 008757, or email your CV to tfitch@compassltd.co.uk
