Senior Associate – Banking & Finance (Manchester)

A leading UK legal practice with a national Banking & Finance team is expanding its Manchester office and is seeking a Senior Associate with strong banking and finance experience. This role offers exposure to a broad and varied range of financing transactions, working with UK financial institutions, lenders, borrowers, private equity sponsors and specialist debt funds on core and complex deals.
What you’ll be doing
* Lead and support on a wide range of banking & finance matters including general banking, acquisition finance, real estate finance, project finance and asset-based lending.
* Draft, review and negotiate facility agreements, LMA documentation, credit agreements and related security documentation.
* Advise UK and international banks, challenger lenders and corporate borrowers on bespoke financing structures.
* Act for private equity houses, management teams and alternative lenders on unitranche, mezzanine and second lien structures.
* Project manage transactions from start to finish, providing commercially focused legal advice.
What you’ll bring
* Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with 4–7 years’ PQE in a substantive banking & finance practice.
* Strong technical drafting and negotiation skills across finance documentation.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with confidence engaging clients and stakeholders at all levels.
* A collaborative mindset with commercial awareness, drive and a “can do” attitude.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and contribute to business development initiatives.
