We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity to join our AXA Commercial business, reporting to the Head of Future Skills. You will lead our Underwriting Capability agenda by developing our Underwriting Academy and evolving our offerings.
At AXA Commercial, we support our business customers of all sizes by making it easy for them to do business with us in a way that suits their needs. Whether through brokers, direct phone, or online, we’ve got them covered. We focus on delivering our underwriting strategy, increasing distribution and sales expertise, and providing customer service excellence through our branch networks and trading channels.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Enhance core underwriting capabilities and competence within the business by collaborating with technical leaders to create and deploy impactful learning initiatives aligned with the Capability Framework.
2. Monitor the deployment and integration of learning solutions, including evaluation, coaching, PDP support, and AI tools as needed.
3. Manage the Underwriting Job Architecture, including role clarity, goal setting, performance management, and recruitment tools, ensuring proper governance and adherence.
4. Maintain relationships with professional bodies like CII and ABI for professional development and collaborate with external delivery partners as needed.
5. Oversee the robustness of compulsory CPD, including education and communication with business leaders, ensuring accurate role identification and reporting.
6. Leverage external market trends and best practices to influence our capability and learning strategies, positioning AXA as a leader in technical learning solutions.
7. Align offerings with the evolving business strategy and future skills requirements, incorporating new processes, technical, and trading expectations.

What you’ll bring:
1. Experience in developing and managing a technical capability strategy, including curriculum design and delivery standards.
2. Ability to assess capability across large organizations.
3. Experience working in an agile change environment with a mindset for continuous improvement.
4. Strong teamwork skills, decision-making ability, and stakeholder engagement experience.
5. Experience partnering with external providers for training development and technology solutions.
6. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with high attention to detail.
7. Ability to challenge senior stakeholders and influence organizational development and learning culture.
8. Collaborative approach to engaging with business teams for performance improvement.
9. Good understanding of insurance operations, processes, data, roles, and industry challenges; up-to-date with industry best practices.
10. Skills in relationship management, negotiation, facilitation, and presentation.
Applicants must be eligible and authorized to work in the UK. This role is subject to background screening every four years under the IDD regime, with annual declarations in interim years.
