South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust is recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist for the 12‑bed female medium secure ward (Skipton Ward) at Cheswold Park Hospital.
The role involves providing clinical leadership, direct patient care, teaching, audit, and service improvement in a female medium secure environment.
Responsibilities
Cover and manage the 12‑bed female medium secure ward.
Lead a multidisciplinary team, providing clinical leadership and supervision.
Develop and implement individual care plans for patients with mental illness and personality disorder.
Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.
Participate in quality improvement, audit, and research activities.
Ensure compliance with MHA, MCA, and Trust policies.
Collaborate with external agencies and liaise with families or carers.
Qualifications
MBBS/MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
MRCPsych.
Full registration with the GMC and a licence to practise.
Included on the GMC Specialist Register for Forensic Psychiatry or General Psychiatry with a special interest in Forensic Psychiatry within six months of appointment.
Approved clinician status and S12 status achieved within three months of appointment.
Experience
Experience in forensic psychiatry or medium secure services.
Experience leading clinical audits and service improvement projects.
Experience in research or service evaluation.
