About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled Welder/Assembler / Installer to join our growing team, specialising in the assembly and installation of bespoke conveyor systems. Based primarily at our headquarters near Kirkby-in-Ashfield, you will also be required to travel occasionally to customer sites across the UK for installations.
This is a hands-on role ideal for candidates with a background in mechanical assembly, engineering, or fabrication, and who are confident using hand-held power tools such as drills and impact drivers. You will follow simple engineering drawings to assemble high-quality conveyor systems, both in-house and on-site.
Key Responsibilities
* Assemble conveyor systems to specification using mechanical drawings and power tools
* Welding and fabrication of components as required
* Work accurately and safely, maintaining high standards of workmanship
* Perform manual handling tasks including lifting and positioning of materials
* Assist with on-site installations, including occasional overnight stays
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
* Liaise with the engineering and project teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of systems
Requirements
Essential:
* Previous experience in mechanical assembly, welding, or a similar environment
* Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings
* Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
* Physically fit with good manual dexterity and handling skills
* Flexible and willing to travel and occasionally stay away from home
* Strong team player with a positive work ethic
Desirable:
* Qualification in engineering or mechanical discipline
* Experience in conveyor system assembly
* Full UK driving licence
