Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalised support tailored to their unique needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality support.

Responsibilities

* Deliver compassionate care to clients in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings.
* Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
* Provide support for individuals with Alzheimer's and dementia, ensuring their safety and comfort.
* Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
* Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to support clients with challenging behaviours.
* Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring the safety of both the client and yourself.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.

Qualifications

* Previous experience in senior care, hospice care, or caregiving is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of first aid practices is an advantage.
* Experience working with individuals with Alzheimer's or dementia is beneficial.
* A background in nursing or patient care is preferred but not mandatory.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
* A valid driving licence is essential for transporting clients when necessary.
* Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting and standing for extended periods.
