About the role
We are recruiting a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team on a 12-month FTC. This is a home-based role, but the successful candidate will attend regular team meetings at our Liverpool office (and occasionally Didsbury) as required.
The role involves supporting financial accounting services, including monthly management reporting, performance reports, internal control compliance, and statutory reports in line with standards. Support managing the Group’s tax activities.
Responsibilities
Accounting
* Support the preparation of annual financial accounts for group and subsidiary entities, including consolidation and statutory disclosures under applicable standards.
* Prepare and submit tax returns for group and legal entities.
* Liaise with auditors to provide information, resolve queries, and implement improvements based on recommendations.
Chart of accounts maintenance
* Maintain the accuracy of the chart of accounts, ensuring controls are in place for correct classification of income, costs, assets, and liabilities to facilitate accurate reporting.
Reporting
* Coordinate and produce month-end accounts, control account reconciliations, and analyses within deadlines.
* Develop data analysis links with other teams, ensuring data assurance for informed decision-making.
* Collaborate with finance colleagues to improve processes and reporting systems.
* Support cross-team collaboration and mentoring within the finance team, especially during peak times or major projects.
Process improvement
* Drive continuous process improvements to enhance financial control and assurance.
* Develop links between data analysis and other teams, ensuring data integrity for decision-making.
