Salary: £40,000 - 80,000 per year Requirements: BSC/MSc in Food Science, Food Chemistry, or related field Experience in end-to-end product development from idea to implementation (ideally 2 years) Good understanding of ingredient functionality including vitamins, minerals, flavors, colors, additives, and sweeteners Experience in leading and project managing all technical aspects of a project from scope through to implementation Passionate about sustainability and food innovation, with a drive for continuous improvement Responsibilities: Complete customer product development and internal-led innovation projects as assigned Continuously build expertise on functional ingredients and nutrients, staying updated on market trends Communicate professionally and effectively with customers to ensure robust project scoping Provide formulation and nutrition support to all sections of the business and customers Ensure understanding of customer requirements during the scoping process, providing accurate indicative costs and project approvals Define product approval criteria during the scoping phase Design product development solutions aligned with customer requirements, meeting organoleptic, quality, legal, stability, and cost standards Develop product formulations based on customer ideas for various product types Conduct sensory assessments prior to customer submission to ensure organoleptic compliance Assess the impact of packaging on product shelf life and advise customers on indications Guide customers on methodologies to validate product shelf life Assist in preparing training for sales representatives and customers Collaborate with procurement and quality to onboard new raw material suppliers efficiently Conduct training for the broader team in product development Scope and lead trials at our manufacturing facility and with third-party manufacturers as necessary Attend first productions to support manufacturing sites and address product-related issues effectively Provide technical input for supplier raw material approvals Technologies: Support Network More: At Prinova, a leading global supplier of ingredients and premix manufacturing solutions, we pride ourselves on delivering sustainable value-added solutions to some of the world’s most recognized food, beverage, and nutrition brands.
