Wood is currently recruiting for a Lead Instrument Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. Wood is undergoing significant growth in our North Sea engineering and modifications business and we are delighted to offer a range of long-term opportunities across a variety of our clients and scopes. 1. Provide Instrument Engineering Expertise
2. Provide input to development of studies and Front-End Engineering Design activities
3. Define instrument requirements for technical scopes related to various project modifications
4. Originating, checking and approval of Instrument engineering & design deliverables including procurement deliverables (. specification, datasheets, scopes of work)
5. Provide support to HAZOPs/HAZID’s and other technical reviews as required
6. Resolve instrument related engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes and standards, including vendor codes and standards
7. Adhere to procedures to assure technical integrity of instrument designs
8. Provide support for interdiscipline considerations through attendance at required design reviews and undertaking inter discipline checking
9. Maintain own knowledge and understanding to meet competence requirements of lead Instrument Engineer
10. Provide feedback on lessons learned to aide in continuous improvement
11. Utilise software tools in design development and checking as required
12. Prepare instrument input to estimate for project required modifications
13. Prepare or input to design change notes to recognise changes to the base design
14. Prepare or input into project change notices to manage cost and schedule changes to the project base estimate
15. Liaise with project to achieve cost and schedule targets
16. Review and report progress to meet deadlines
Qualifications:
17. MSc, MEng or equivalent professional qualification or BSc, BEng or equivalent with extensive relevant experience. Chartered Engineer or recognised equivalent
Minimum Experience:
18. Demonstrable balance of industrial and management experience at relevant level and position
