Production Manager Boden Rail Engineering Ltd is based at Colwick TMD, Victoria Retail Park, Netherfield, Nottingham NG4 2PE is an established Deisel locomotive maintenance depot undertaking service, maintenance, heavy engineering and full overhauls of CL37, CL56 and CL60 locomotives. We are seeking to recruit to our team a production manager with proven experience of project management and an extensive knowledge of CL60 traction. Reporting primarily to the Managing Director, to assist with the management of all aspects of Locomotive Maintenance at Boden Rail Engineering, ensuring ongoing work and projects are coordinated and delivered to deadlines, and to a high standard. You will have excellent communication and problem solving skills and be able to ensure the production process is efficient, cost effective and meets customer requirements whilst maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. Main Duties and Responsibilities To manage the Operational Maintenance, including Traction & Rolling Stock, Fitters and Apprentices. To liaise with senior management and other departments regarding ongoing projects and requirements. To carry out office duties daily, including the completion of timesheets and the monitoring of and dealing with emails. To attend meetings as required and hold Department meetings to keep staff up to date. To co-ordinate contractors and suppliers. To ensure all work carried out by yourself and your team complies with the relevant Company Safety Management System documentation and applicable statutory legislation. To ensure all work carried out is in accordance with all health and safety standards, always maintaining a safe workplace. To identify possible hazards and establish safe working practices. To identify opportunities to improve production methods and reduce costs and implement changes and improvements. To ensure all work carried out by yourself and your team complies with the relevant quality standards. Potential Candidate Specification: Appropriate levels of numeracy and literacy Relevant Engineering qualifications Proven experience of working in an Engineering management role Experience of working as a Fitter/Engineer Experience of working within a regulated/ controlled environment Experience of working with management systems Experience of delivering as part of a team, in a dynamic environment Proven experience of managing and delivering projects to deadlines Good understanding of Railway principles Good understanding of Engineering principles Knowledge and understanding of Safety Critical principles including the management of competence and audit protocols Please note salary is negotiable.
