Electrical Estimator
An exciting opportunity is available for an ambitious individual to join a leading engineering contractor as an Electrical Estimator within their EP&R team. The position can be based in Waterford or Dublin.

Overall Role Objective
The Electrical Estimator is responsible for the preparation, submission, and management of electrical tenders allocated. The primary objective of the role is to achieve accurate net costs in accordance with client specifications and subcontract documentation.
What you will be doing
Accurately quantify material, plant, and labour requirements for allocated electrical and mechanical projects
Manage enquiries relating to the supply of materials, plant, and labour for pre-designed projects
Ensure relevant contractual and commercial information is distributed appropriately
Assess tender bids from subcontractors and specialist suppliers
Prepare project risk registers at tender stage
Prepare estimates using computer-aided estimating systems, ensuring estimating procedures are adhered to
Ensure all tender documentation is received and recorded
Produce summary sheets and supporting documentation for tender adjudication within required deadlines
Prepare client tender documentation, including correspondence relating to exclusions, variations, and extensions
Attend and contribute to pre-contract meetings and post-tender interviews
Attend site surveys and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors during tender preparation
Negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors
Work in accordance with current health and safety policies and procedures
Carry out any other reasonable and relevant duties required to meet business needs
Is this the job for me?
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Estimator role or a relevant trade qualification and background
Ability to read, interpret, and understand specifications and drawings
Experience using computerised estimating software
Strong planning and workload prioritisation skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
High levels of confidentiality and professionalism
Strong numeracy and literacy skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Good communication skills
Proactive approach to problem solving
Strong PC skills, including MS Office
