Acute Medicine Consultant

To provide clinical leadership in acute medical patient care, developing the interface between Acute and Emergency Medicine. You will be part of a dedicated team of Acute Physicians providing consultant cover for our dynamic and well-supported departments at UHNM.
A team of Acute Physicians with a budgeted establishment of over 17.50 WTE Consultants. The department includes a 58-bed AMU with a projected 12‑hour length of stay, a 22‑bed Short Stay Unit (SSU) and an 11‑bed higher monitoring unit (HMU) integrated within the AMU. Ultrasound facilities are available.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Entry on the Specialist Register in Acute Internal Medicine or General Internal Medicine, or entry expected within 6 months from the date of interview
* MRCP or equivalent
* MD, PhD or equivalent
* Specialty Certificate Examination in Acute Internal Medicine
Experience
* Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT in Acute Internal Medicine (AIM) or General Internal Medicine (GIM)
* Higher training in a dedicated Acute Medicine specialty training scheme
* Critical Care experience
Academic, Research & Publication
* Experience of conducting clinical audit
* Published in peer‑reviewed journals
Management Experience
* Higher teaching qualification
