Job Title: 1:1 SEND Autism Teaching Assistant (TA) Location: Romford, Greater London, England Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Industry: Education and Training Salary: £83.85 - £95 Per day Benefits: £50 referral fee Job Description: Job Duties: Provide 1:1 support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in an educational setting Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies Support the teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities to meet the specific needs of students with SEND Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for students with ASD Monitor and record student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to the teacher and SENCO Required Qualifications: Relevant experience working with students with Autism or SEND A valid and up-to-date DBS check Good understanding of autism and strategies for supporting individuals with ASD Education: Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths Additional qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable Experience: Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Support Worker in a special educational needs environment Demonstrated experience in implementing behaviour management techniques Knowledge and Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively as part of a team Patience, empathy, and understanding towards students with ASD Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask Preferred Qualifications: Certificate or Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Training in Makaton or other communication methods for non-verbal students Working Conditions: Working hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday Work primarily takes place within a classroom setting May involve some physical activity and assisting students with personal care needs Regular collaboration with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
