We’re excited to offer an opportunity for a talented Software Tester to join our growing team, where you’ll work on innovative projects at the forefront of digital transformation. Our Digital Transformation Centre specialises in modernising legacy systems into cloud-native solutions using Java and open-source technologies.
We embrace agile and DevOps principles to deliver high-quality applications and platforms. Our tech stack includes Java, microservices, infrastructure-as-code, NoSQL databases, containerisation, JEE, Oracle, and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.
Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time. You will be required to travel to our office based in Telford on average 3 days per week.

Your role
As a Software Tester, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our solutions. We’re looking for someone who is curious, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to a collaborative team environment. You’ll be involved in a variety of tasks, including:
* Reviewing and assessing requirements to ensure they are testable and clear.
* Designing and developing test scripts, and preparing test data in collaboration with other teams.
* Executing tests, documenting results, and verifying that identified issues have been resolved.
* Communicating progress and risks clearly to the wider team, including the Product Owner.
* Contributing to a supportive and inclusive team culture where knowledge sharing and continuous improvement are valued.

Your skills and experience
We’re looking for someone with a solid understanding of quality assurance practices and a passion for delivering reliable, high-quality software. You don’t need to tick every box to apply—if you’re excited about the role and eager to learn, we’d love to hear from you.
We’d especially value experience in the following areas:
* Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
* Experience with API testing and tools such as Postman.
* Familiarity with functional or system integration testing.
* Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, JUnit).
* Knowledge of stubbing tools like Wiremock.
* Understanding of non-functional testing, including load and performance testing.
* Experience using tools like JIRA, Confluence, or other backlog/test management platforms.
* Exposure to iterative or incremental software delivery practices.
* Ability to maintain and execute automated testing cycles.
* Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
* Understanding of Agile methodologies and ways of working.

Your security clearance
To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.
To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.

Works in the area of Software Engineering, which encompasses the development, maintenance and optimization of software solutions/applications.1. Applies scientific methods to analyse and solve software engineering problems.2. He/she is responsible for the development and application of software engineering practice and knowledge, in research, design, development and maintenance.3. His/her work requires the exercise of original thought and judgement and the ability to supervise the technical and administrative work of other software engineers.4. The software engineer builds skills and expertise of his/her software engineering discipline to reach standard software engineer skills expectations for the applicable role, as defined in Professional Communities.5. The software engineer collaborates and acts as team player with other software engineers and stakeholders.
