Our Disabled Children’s Service is looking for dedicated Social Workers to help deliver a wide range of statutory responsibilities, supporting families who need additional help or specialist care to keep their children safe and thriving.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for all social workers who have successfully completed their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) to be at the forefront of change - empowering families, protecting children, and helping to shape brighter futures.
Working across the full spectrum of statutory services, including assessments, child in need, child protection, children in care, and transition to adulthood, you will provide consistent and holistic support throughout each child’s journey.
Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, and by partnering closely with health, education, care, and community agencies, you will be instrumental in developing joined-up plans that put children, young people and families at the centre.
We have opportunities in the following locations:
1. Exeter & East – Exeter
2. North & Mid – Barnstaple
3. South & West – Totnes
About You
Bringing sound judgement, compassion, and confidence you will use evidence-based tools to assess risk and develop strengths-based plans that support positive outcomes.
Advocating for children and young people in Devon, your skills and experience will include:
4. Knowledge and understanding of the legislation, models, and theories relevant to children’s social work
5. The ability to build effective professional relationships with children, families, and other professionals
6. Experience working within social care, including working in a multi-agency and court environment
7. A social work qualification, registration with Social Work England andsuccessful completion of your ASYE
8. A high-level of written and verbal communication skills
