JOB DESCRIPTION
Interface with key stakeholders both internal and external
Portfolio management of varying scale and complexity of scopes
Ability to be able to work in the detail of individual scopes and ability to priories a portfolio of works based on timeline requirements.
Technical assurance and governance
Internal and external Project Management Plan for various scopes
Defining and owning weekly, monthly external and internal operating rhythm, including but not limited to review of reports, schedules, cost etc.
Customers focused.
Contract representative internally ensuring delivery and progress internally via Wood Eng Hub
Ensures accurate and timely delivery of work, to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers.
Alerts Stakeholders both internally and external in the event of potential delays or change; supports implementation of approved changes.
Coordinates and assures delivery excellence of interdisciplinary project deliverables.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides the interface and maintains a confident relationship with other contributors to the project.
Regularly reviews and reports project /progress to senior management and/or the sponsor/customer.
Contributes to and reviews the project proposal and/or consolidated plan to determine timeframe, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allocation of available resources to all phases of the project.
Defines/designs activities, starting from existing solutions.
Provides the interface and maintains a confident relationship with all contributors to the project.
Contributes to setting project evaluation parameters.
Defines and agrees minor changes to project scope or specification with the project sponsor/customer.
Interacts with the project sponsor/customer at a tactical level.
Regularly reviews and reports project progress to senior management and/or the
sponsor/customer.
May manage relationships with external suppliers.
Solves problems requiring investigation and interpretation
Conducts kick off meetings and work initiation processes
Attends customer meetings and assists with determination of project requirements
Assists in the drafting and issuance of project proposals, tenders, budgets, cash flow, plans,
procedures and preliminary schedules
Prepares project organization charts
Chairs progress/site/closeout meetings as appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members
Tracks the progress and quality of work being performed by project team members, assuring
outputs meet quality standards and capturing lessons learned
Uses project scheduling and control tools to monitor project plans, work hours, budgets and
Expenditures
Effectively and accurately communicates relevant project information to the customer and project Team
Keeps the Project Sponsor/Customer and other stakeholders informed about project status and issues that may impact customer relations, flagging early signs of schedule or budget slippage in order to agree corrective actions.
Anticipates and takes pre-emptive action to address potential conflict situations that may
impact on project delivery
QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive experience gained either as a discipline engineer in a project environment.
Good understanding of technical work scope, key dates and milestones. es.
Completely familiar with project contractual and commercial requirements.
Fully conversant with project scopes and work carried out by all engineering disciplines and
various interface and inter discipline coordination requirements among the various disciplines
including procurement and construction.
Understands the concept of customer satisfaction and is able to deliver to internal customers,
including other Engineering disciplines
Understands and knows how to apply the procedures and work practices which define and
govern Engineering Management and Project Engineering deliverables
Understands the importance of Project Engineering deliverables and the need for accuracy and
timely issue
Commercially astute and aware of the importance of Change control.
Has a good knowledge of engineering standards, procedures and work practices; follows
project execution flow chart; developing skills in project and technical execution.
Able to lead small team; develops skills of leadership with minimum intervention from manager.
