Communication Support Assistant (BSL) We're working with schools in Sunderland that are looking to appoint a full-time Communication Support Assistant with BSL skills for a September start. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with hearing impairments and communication needs, helping them access education in a positive and inclusive learning environment. We're looking for a compassionate and motivated individual who is committed to supporting pupils both academically and socially. What you'll be doing • Providing communication support through British Sign Language • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups • Assisting with classroom learning and differentiated activities • Encouraging positive participation and engagement in lessons • Supporting pupils' confidence, wellbeing and independence • Working alongside teaching and support staff to achieve positive outcomes What we're looking for • BSL qualification or practical signing experience • Strong communication and organisational skills • Experience supporting children or young people is advantageous • A positive, adaptable and supportive attitude • A passion for inclusive education • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) What you can expect from Protocol • Weekly PAYE pay • Full-time position from September • Ongoing support from a consultant who genuinely cares • Free CPD and online training opportunities All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
