Are you a gamer with events experience, interested in working with some of the biggest talent, publishers, and developers in the industry? Then we’re looking for you to join our team as an Assistant Event Manager.
We’re seeking someone who lives and breathes gaming – a tech wizard ready to work with consoles, PCs, digital screens, livestreams, and more, able to troubleshoot tech issues quickly and assist clients with a deep understanding of video games. You’re a fast learner who can adapt to new games and software rapidly and can train colleagues accordingly.
You’ll join a close-knit team of gaming industry professionals, working to deliver events, brand activations, tournaments, and more at the UK’s ultimate gaming destination – Virgin Media Gamepad. Your responsibilities include setting up live streams, installing gaming tech, creating event recaps, and assisting with daily operations.
You must have exceptional customer service skills to provide memorable experiences to clients and guests. Your role involves setting up various games across multiple consoles and PCs, and leading a team of brand ambassadors.
This position involves shifts during weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Our goal is to make Virgin Media Gamepad the premier gaming destination in Europe, and we seek an ambitious, passionate individual to help us achieve this.

Main Responsibilities:
* Manage daily operations of the space, overseeing technical and gaming aspects, and addressing issues proactively.
* Assist with live stream setup, gameplay recordings, podcasts, filming, etc., utilizing your tech expertise.
* Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, stakeholders, and agencies.
* Maintain systems within the space, ensuring smooth operations, and suggest improvements.
* Support off-site events and other clients as needed.
* Manage a team of over 40 staff, conducting appraisals, mentoring, and recognizing outstanding work.
* Organize and store files, stats, and creative resources efficiently.
* Deliver exceptional customer service, embodying company values of integrity, innovation, teamwork, and accountability.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
* Excellent tech troubleshooting skills across various devices and software.
* Genuine passion for gaming, with industry knowledge and awareness of trends.
* Outstanding customer service skills, dedicated to providing excellent guest experiences.
* Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Creative ability to produce sleek presentations following brand guidelines.
* Proficiency in Excel, OneDrive, Canva is a plus.
