About the role:
As an Environmental Impact Operative, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our neighbourhoods safe, clean and welcoming. Working at the heart of our communities, you’ll carry out neighbourhood walkabouts, identify environmental issues, and work closely with customers, partners and colleagues to put things right.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining practical problem-solving with community engagement. From tackling overgrown areas and environmental hazards to supporting community clean-ups and local improvement projects, you’ll help build neighbourhood pride and make a real, visible difference to where people live.
You’ll work collaboratively across Neighbourhood teams, using a proactive and solution-focused approach to improve local environments and support positive, sustainable communities.
What you’ll need to succeed
We’re looking for someone who is confident, community-minded and motivated to make a difference. You’ll bring experience of working in a neighbourhood, housing, environmental or community-facing role, along with strong communication skills and the ability to engage positively with customers and partners.
You’ll be comfortable working independently, carrying out inspections, identifying risks and taking appropriate action, while also being a great team player who works well with others. A positive, can-do attitude, good IT skills, and a willingness to learn and develop are essential. A full driving licence and basic DBS are also required.
