Job Title: Teaching Assistant (LSA) - Grade 2
Contract: Term-Time Only | Permanent
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, school hours
About the Role:
Brady Primary School is seeking a passionate and proactive Teaching Assistant (LSA) - Grade 2 to join our dedicated team in supporting children across the school, particularly those with additional needs. Working under the direction of the class teacher and SENDCo, you will help deliver a nurturing learning environment that fosters pupil development - academically, socially, and emotionally.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils access the curriculum and achieve their individual learning goals, whilst also supporting the wider school team in planning, behaviour management, and classroom organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored one-to-one or small group support in line with pupils’ Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Assist with the physical, emotional, and medical needs of pupils
Encourage independence and self-confidence among children
Support the delivery and adaptation of lesson plans and learning activities
Record and report pupil progress and behaviour to teaching staff
Supervise pupils during lessons, break times, and outings
Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all
What We’re Looking For:
NVQ Level 2 in Teaching/Classroom Assistance (or equivalent), or working towards qualification
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role (or 5 years if not yet qualified)
Understanding of child development and safeguarding practices
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with children
Calm, caring, and adaptable with strong behaviour management skills
Knowledge of school systems, behaviour policies, and inclusive learning support strategies
