Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available The role This Project Manager role sits within the SSEN Transmission (SSENT) Offshore Team and is required to lead the successful delivery of large offshore Transmission projects in the north of Scotland to facilitate the connection of renewable energy sources to the Grid with a specific focus on commissioning related activities. In an exciting period of growth, this role will involve you in a number of complex and challenging projects SSEN Transmission is to develop and deliver within the coming years. Reporting to the Lead Project Manager you will be responsible for the development and management of projects throughout their life cycles with a focus on developing and preparing projects for commissioning. You will - Deliver AC project objectives for safety, budget, quality, and time, ensuring compliance with SSE Large Capital Projects Governance and commissioning processes from the earliest stages. - Lead and support project teams, suppliers, and contractors through effective management and coordination, contributing to successful commissioning and sharing best practices. - Develop and manage commissioning plans, including stage-by-stage sequences and Factory Acceptance Testing, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. - Promote and adhere to SSE’s Safety Management Systems and leadership values, ensuring a strong safety culture and regulatory compliance in all activities. - Build strong relationships across project, commissioning, and operational teams, while identifying and supporting continuous improvement in business processes and governance. You have - Proven leadership experience managing commissioning within complex large capital projects and multi-disciplinary teams, ideally in electricity networks, offshore cables, or large-scale infrastructure. - Strong knowledge of project governance, financial compliance, and reporting, with the ability to guide and motivate teams toward successful delivery. - A broad understanding of the full project lifecycle, including engineering, construction, commissioning, and tendering processes, with subsea or transmission project experience being an advantage. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally. - Familiarity with the National Grid STC, SSE standards, NEC3 contracts, and health and safety regulations, including CDM 2015.
