Finance & Admin Assistant
Newcastle-under-Lyme
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (potential to be flexible)
Salary: Up to £23,000 per annum
Role overview
Our client is on the look out for an reliable and organised individual to join their finance team, in a multi-faceted administration role. The successful candidate will be personable, possess the ability to prioritise effectively and be flexible to a variety of tasks at hand.
Main duties (including but not limited to):
Purchase ledger
Sales ledger
Preparing and processing financial documents for management meetings
CIS tax returns
VAT returns
Weekly payroll
Answering incoming calls/greeting visitors
Ordering materials and arranging access equipment
Responsibilities:
Inputting purchase invoices, checking them against orders and raising queries, where necessary, with the relevant supplier
Checking supplier statements, cash flow forecasting and raising payments according to the terms of the individual supplier
Co-ordinating with the contracts managers, ensuring that applications and invoices are issued to clients with the correct timeframe
Issuing statements to clients, cash flow forecasting, credit control
Bank reconciliation
Co-ordinating with contracts managers, assisting in the preparation of ‘work in progress’ reports and monthly management figures
Recording the CIS tax deductions and reporting the HMRC on a monthly basis
Processing the VAT return on a 3 monthly basis
Processing weekly payroll, Hudson Contracts & Sub-Contractor invoices
Answer incoming calls in a professional and friendly manner and actioning or redirecting as appropriate
Assisting with ordering materials and arranging access equipment
Knowledge:
A good knowledge of Sage
Effective communicator accurately/effectively with others and comply with instructions
Ideally a good knowledge of the construction industry, although not essential
