Job overview Revalidation Support Unit (RSU) The Revalidation Support Unit is a professional unit within Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) that aims to support and improve professional standards across Wales. We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic GP to join the team as part-time GP Appraisal Coordinator for the North-west Wales and Powys region. We are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate through a competitive recruitment process, the potential to successfully deliver all aspects of this post. They must be able to work flexibly and work effectively as part of a team of Appraisal Coordinators across Wales. If you have a keen interest in the GP Appraisal process in Wales and experience of appraising / supporting others, this role will allow you to become engaged in leading the appraisal process and further develop your own skills and expertise in the area. Advert The GP Appraisal Coordinator will lead a team of Appraisers and co-ordinate all GP appraisal activity in the ir region (s). This includes contributing to the recruitment, training and management of Appraisers, and addressing their ongoing learning and development needs. The post holder will also be expected to attend and contribute to a range of appraisal meetings to discuss and potentially resolve, local and national issues. The post holder will be expected to drive and enhance the appraisal process in Wales by undertaking other key responsibilities, such as, contributing to quality assurance activities and working closely with a variety of stakeholders to provide appraisal guidance and support. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to.
