Overview

The Pharmacy at St Peter's Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a friendly and well organised individual to join our department as a Pharmacy Storekeeper. We are a busy Pharmacy department and your role will involve you supporting the Pharmacy team by receiving and processing deliveries into the Pharmacy stores.

You will be working in a team alongside another Pharmacy Storekeeper as well as Pharmacy Assistants, Senior Assistants, Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists. The core working hours are 09:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday. The post holder will support Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists by receiving and unloading all deliveries to Pharmacy including bulk pallet deliveries of IV fluids and feeds whilst ensuring the security of the goods at all times. You will be expected to enter delivery details onto the pharmacy computer operating system while maintaining good stock control throughout the Pharmacy stores to minimise wastage.

You will carry out your duties supervised by qualified staff and contribute to the development of pharmacy services. You will promote the highest of standards of professional practice, whilst observing at all times the "statement on professional Conduct" issued by the GPhC.

You will be required to follow all legal and departmental practices including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as COSHH and lifting and handling regulations and all Trust Policies and Procedures.


Responsibilities

* Receive and process deliveries into the Pharmacy stores and assist with unloading.
* Support the Pharmacy team by entering delivery details onto the pharmacy computer system and maintaining stock control to minimise wastage.
* Work with Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacists and other staff to ensure secure handling of deliveries, including bulk pallet deliveries of IV fluids and feeds.
* Operate in accordance with SOPs, COSHH, lifting and handling regulations, and Trust Policies and Procedures.
* Contribute to the development of pharmacy services and uphold high professional standards as per GPhC guidance.

* Excellent communication skills to effectively work with staff of all grades throughout the Hospital.
* Hardworking, eager to learn, and able to prioritise work.
