The Role - Environmental, Social and Governance Lead Location: Head Office (Mayfield, Edinburgh)

The NWH Group is a leading waste management business with operations in Scotland and the North East of England. We are committed to sustainability and responsible business practices, and we are seeking an experienced Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Lead to drive our ESG strategy and initiatives.
Initiate, develop, and implement the company's ESG strategy to drive sustainability and responsible practices.
Identify ESG risks and opportunities, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
Collaborate with senior leaders to integrate ESG principles into business operations.
Develop clear and measurable ESG goals, both short-term and long-term.
Prepare and present ESG reports to internal and external stakeholders, including investors, customers, and regulatory bodies.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, customers, employees, and community organisations.
Engage with external ESG networks and organisations to stay informed about industry standards and best practices. Work with our commercial and account management teams to engage with current and prospective customers as an educational lead in all matters relating to ESG.
Identify potential ESG risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the company's reputation and financial stability.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, Finance).
A minimum of 3 years of experience in ESG leadership roles, preferably in a waste management or related industry.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive change within the organization and the industry.
